Introduced in 2010 by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the Volkswagen Amarok is a robust pickup truck known for its bodyonframe design, featuring a doublewishbone suspension at the front and leaf springs at the rear. The Amarok lineup offers versatility with single cab and double cab options, allowing customers to choose between rearwheel drive and 4motion fourwheeldrive configurations. Its powertrains include turbocharged petrol or turbocharged direct injection (TDI) diesel engines.

For those seeking toptier performance, there's the option of a 3.0liter FordJaguar Land Roverdeveloped AJDV6 engine, offering power outputs of 177 kW (241 PS; 237 hp) or 184 kW (250 PS; 247 hp) depending on the market. In markets preferring petrol power, a single 2.3liter turbocharged petrol engine delivering 222 kW (302 PS; 298 hp) is available.

The 154 kW (209 PS; 207 hp) Amarok diesel variant comes standard with a 10speed automatic gearbox paired with an eshifter (shiftbywire). Other engine options offer a choice between a 6speed automatic transmission and 5 or 6speed manual gearboxes.
