Nevada Volcano Update; The World's Newest 'Geyser' Appeared at a Local Volcano

In Nevada, south of the city of Reno a strong earthquake swarm recently struck the vicinity of the Steamboat Springs volcano which has not erupted for 1.14 million years. This activity occurred alongside the sudden widening of a 10 foot long crack in the ground, which is now emitting boiling water in geyserlike vents. So, is a volcanic eruption about to occur in the suburbs south of Reno? I will answer this question and discuss the occurrence of geysers in the past and present at the Steamboat Springs volcano.

Note: Please do not visit these new geothermal features in person since they are located on private property. Trespassing is not allowed on those properties.
