My husband is a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces and he has been struggling with his mental health for several years now. It has been so insidious that him, I, and us as a couple have really struggled. It truly feels like we are at the start of the healing process at the recognition and acceptance phase.

We really wanted to share honestly about how our experience has been so far and what our plan is to get as much help as we need. We feel so incredibly fortunate that we have the love and support from so many amazing people and the access to resources through Veterans Affairs Canada.
