A sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a period (.), or a question mark (?), or an exclamation mark (!).
A cat sat on a mat.

The letter “I” is always capitalized anywhere in the sentence.
May I come in?
I am a boy.

Should make sense.
Provides a complete thought.
Sarah sings beautifully. (Complete)
When Sarah sings. (Incomplete)

A Statement
It is a telling sentence.
Gives information.
Starts with a capital letter and ends with a period (.).

A Command
It is a telling sentence.
Gives a command.
Starts with a capital letter and ends with a period (.).

A Question
It is an asking sentence.
Asks a question.
Starts with a capital letter and ends with a question mark (?).

An Exclamation
It shows a strong feeling.
Tells an emotion.
Starts with a capital letter and ends with an exclamation mark (!).
