Pearson Packaging Systems’ Multiline Robotic Palletizer utilizes FANUC’s popular M410i Series Palletizing Robot, along with a series of automated case forming, filling, sealing and inspection systems, to palletize large cases at very high throughput rates.

The system starts as cases are erected by Pearson’s easytouse CE35G Case Erector. This highly reliable case erector can build up to 35 cases per minute. Next, the boxes are conveyed to a bag inserter Pearson’s servodriven BI25 Bag Inserter’s advanced design allows for precise bag placement of up to 25 cases per minute. The cases are transferred via a custom conveyor system with a “to and from” filler to fill the bags in the cases. Full cases are conveyed to Person’s UC15 Bag Uncuffer for bag uncuffing, folding and sealing, then to Pearson’s CS25 Case Sealer, which seals the cases at fast and reliable rates.

Before reaching their destination at the robotic palletizing station, the cases pass through a metal detector for inspection. Bad cases are sent to a reject station, while good cases continue on to the multiline palletizing station. The cases arrive from the infeed conveyor traveling length parallel to flow and are identified by a barcode reader. The cases are side transferred to width parallel to flow by a urethane belt transfer to the appropriate case accumulation conveyor. Cases are conveyed into the palletizing robot pick area. Once three cases accumulate, the FANUC M410i series palletizing robot picks the required number of cases based on pallet pattern and case rate. The robot also picks slip sheets from slip sheet racks when needed. FANUC’s M410i series of palletizing robots is an ideal choice for automated palletizing systems, offering a variety of payload options and advanced features such as iRVision and simulated programming. Once a full pallet is complete, the load is transported out of the system to a pallet shuttle. The pallet shuttle then transfers the full pallet through a light curtain and onto an exit conveyor.

This versatile palletizing system from Pearson Packaging is highly flexible it can be customized to a customer’s specific needs for a variety of products and pallet patterns.
