I'm guessing even the Mongols were debating the merits of mules vs horse, on the pack animal and riding animal fronts. For anyone thinking about getting into wilderness horse or mule packing packing for elk hunting and mule deer hunting, this video is for you.

In this video, I give the perspective of an outfitter. Mules and horses are very similar and it really comes down to the individual animals. However, I do prefer mules for a bunch of reasons I discuss in this video. I also talk about why many folks choose horses over mules.
