We did some guessing before and it didn't help the problem. Now we have a nice scanner and can do some better educated guessing. This new scanner shows every module in the cars system. This has been extremely helpful in figuring out what specific things are doing in the engine bay. We were able to diagnose some minor misfire issues with the engine and address where the problem radiates from. Now I knew there was a misfire by listening to the engine at the tailpipe. The engine should run nice and smooth but it had a slight but noticeable pop. With the scanner I was able to see what cylinder was having problems as well as run a relearn process. While it is not necessary to use the scanner to start the relearn process it does make it easier.
