Disney dropped a onetwo punch on fans with the announcement that Moana 2 was confirmed, and they even provided a shocking release date. Long the subject of fan speculation, Moana 2 languished in uncertainty for years as the highlyanticipated Moana liveaction remake seemed to take center stage. Now, Disney not only confirmed the sequel but revealed it will premiere on November 27th, 2024.

Announced amid a slew of other future sequels that will dot the cinematic landscape for the next few years, Moana 2 is coming later in 2024 to the surprise of many. While the cast is still under wraps, a bit of a story tease was provided when it was revealed that the sequel will see Moana reteam with demigod Maui as they sail across Oceania in search of longlost waters. Disney also teased the new movie with a short clip that can be viewed below.
