The second phase of the EthiopianEritrean War continued in February 1999. Both sides used the pause to acquire much more capable fighters. Ethiopia purchased Su27s from Russia while Eritrea bought MiG29s from Ukraine. Those two types would soon meet in actual engagements. Which side ended as the clear winner?
