The Miami Seaquarium, which was home to the beloved orca Lolita, is being evicted from its waterfront location in Miami.
MiamiDade County officials served a lease termination notice Thursday to the park's owner, The Dolphin Company.
The oldFlorida style tourist attraction opened in 1955. Lolita lived there for more than 50 years until her death last August at age 57. MiamiDade County cited a “long and troubling history of violations” in a lease termination notice.
The company has until April 21 to vacate the property. It wasn't immediately known what will happen to the marine life living at the park.
