Mexico Dental Procedure | Is it A Good Idea?

My front tooth has been broken now for nearly three years, and the procedure is thousands of dollars in Canada and USA. I have also gotten it fixed in both Canada and USA, with mixed results. As a small business owner, every penny counts, so I couldn't afford the procedure, except for here in Mexico. I did some research and found the dentist that made me comfortable to do the job, and they quoted me $70. I decided to take the risk and booked my appointment. The dentist spoke decent english, and the office was nice. The only major concern of mine came from my own fear of needles, but this concern was not an issue because the dentist did not use novocaine. In fact, there was no numbing used at all. To me, that seemed terrifying, but to my surprise it was all pain free. The drilling was even pain free. I was in and out of the office in less than an hour, and the finished product is far better than I expected.

Getting my tooth fixed was the last thing on my "to do list" before leaving Mexico, so I was ready to head for the border. Over the past three months, I have encountered very few problems in Mexico, but I knew that the border cities have the highest probability. Sure enough, I found myself in a predicament. The police in Mexico are on a very small salary, so they do take advantage of tourists when the opportunity arrises, and I found myself on the receiving end of that opportunity. All in all, the encounter costed me 700 pesos, but resulted in a police escort right to the border. I can't really ask for a better outcome.
