The next few years of Ethereum's protocol and ecosystem evolution are going to fundamentally reshape the relationship between the users, the protocol, and MEV extraction. These changes are coming from multiple fronts: the switch to proof of stake, eventual integration of full Danksharding, layer2 protocols and PBS auctions, first extraprotocol and later inprotocol.
