A sunkissed octogenarian, King Tonino has reigned over Tavolara, a tiny Italian island off the coast of Sardinia, for decades. As it happens, his family also owns the island’s only restaurant. According to King Tonino, né Antonio Bertoleoni, the origins of Tavolara’s royal family can be traced back to the time that his greatgreatgreat grandfather and King Carlo Alberto of Sardinia went hunting for goldtoothed goats.
