It's a BEAutiful copperhead in the woods! ~ Let's learn some facts about the copperhead snake. I'll compare the venomous eastern copperhead snake (Agkistrodon contortrix) to the nonvenomous northern watersnake (Nerodia sipedon sipedon) so you can see the differences. Are copperheads dangerous? Yes. Will you die from a bite? Most likely no...but your day will suck.

*The birthing times vary across regions and even during certain years. Generally it will be in August, September and October.

*Technically the northern watersnake is venomous, but it is a very weak venom and not injected via a frontfang system. I don't mind addressing the snake as nonvenomous in this video as it doesn't create a hysteria that may cause needless deaths/removals of watersnakes from landowners.
