Murmur's Meet The Alters video! Murmer is a nonhuman (mermaid) caretaker Alter in our DID System who helps us deal with waterrelated trauma and abuse. As she is a mermaid in the inner world and therefore cannot drown there, she is less affected by flashbacks and trauma related to drowning and water. Because of this, when Murmer is the Alter who showers and bathes the body any flashbacks or triggers are massively reduced and if they do happen, they have much less impact on the body and the System. This explains how her being created as a mermaid to survive waterrelated trauma makes her a perfectly suited caretaker to help us function in highly triggering but necessary areas of daily life.
