Rebuilding the DD3 Safety Actuator is a manageable job for the DIY bus owner. I was hoping to do disassembly and assembly all in one video. It seems removal and disassembly took 45 minutes of video, so there will be two parts. The video shows some of the hangups one might run into with rust or corrosion. Also, it shows the intensity of the chamber springs are manageable by hand.
Disclaimer: Rebuilding actuators is not my day job, I am learning as I go. DD3 are relatively easy to rebuild with basic tools. HOWEVER, I strongly recommend you have a service manual on hand to answer questions, specifications and proper procedure for rebuild of your DD3 chamber.
