Booking positioning flights is a strategy to maximize your airline miles and credit card points.

I live in San Diego, and there are few international flights or award availability. This is why I often have to reposition to other major airports around me to take advantage of flight deals and award availability.

I consider San Diego as my home airport, but I often search for flights out of LAX, SFO, and sometimes even SEA or LAS. The more airports I am willing to reposition to the more flight options I'll have and the higher chance I'll be able to find award space for a flight I want.

Use positioning flights to maximize your credit card points or frequent flyer miles!
