Lava from Mauna Loa's eruption has slowed but is still expected to cut off a off a major road on the Big Island, Route 200. As it is now day 5 of its ongoing eruption, we now have a decent estimate of not only how much lava has erupted but also the rate it has erupted at, and this figure is in the hundreds of cubic meters per second range. Additionally, the U.S. Geological Survey revealed some information about the composition of Mauna Loa's still erupting molten rock. This video will discuss Mauna Loa's ongoing eruption and what might happen next.
A special thanks and also please subscribe to: / @twopineapples , who graciously allowed me to use his livestream footage. He regularly livestreams Kilauea's and now Mauna Loa's volcanic eruptions.
