HAWAIʻI ISLAND Lava from the eruption of Mauna Loa volcano is more than 3 miles away from the Daniel K. Inouye Highway. Officials with the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory and the Hawaii County Civil Defense gave an update on the situation during a Wednesday morning media briefing.
