Mathias Grassow is one of the most prolific members of socalled "Munich school" of spiritual music, along with Peter Michael Hamel, Al Gromer Khan and Klaus Wieise, whose pupil Mathias was through the 90s and 00s until Wiese's passing. Grassow's career started in 70s, when he was dissatisfied with the direction the german electronic music was taking. instead, he focused on minimalist, contemplative New Age and drone music, with later taking over during his years playing a lot with Wiese and to this day. Grassow's drones are longform, majestic, multilayered and extremely catching, as if unstoppable yet gentle force is taking you through a tunnel of pure light ~ towards the higher planes of existence.

i'm a longtime fan of Mathias work and it's a highest recommendation to any fan of drone ambient music, especially if you dig Klaus Wiese music. he's still very active and his bandcamp page is a true treasure cave, feel free to explore!
