The American Frontier of the 1800’s was a volatile era of peril and adventure. It required a different kind of man, whose character and courage were often tested by the wilderness, human conflict, and the challenges of a great nation at its infancy. At no other time in American history did a man have to rely on his tools to do battle with nature, resolve conflicts in duels, and be held in high regard as a man of stature, prestige, and daring. In this era, the hardened and nononsense American frontiersman relied on the incomparable Bowie Knife as his sidearm of choice.

Named after the great frontiersman Jim Bowie, the Bowie Knife has become a fixture in American culture, and has been proven time and again as quite possibly being the most powerful knife that ever existed.

In this video we will cover some of the history, design features, and fighting methodology of the Bowie Knife, specifically the Backcut Reverso flow that requires exceptional movement coordination in the handling of this American legend.
