===============================================

A placid cat, the Manx will likely get along with all of the people in your life and provide many years of loving companionship.

The Manx is a mediumsized cat but she is stocky and heavily boned. The Manx can appear larger than she is and fanciers may not realize how heavy she can actually be at maturity. The Manx is a rounded cat with a round head, round eyes, a roundness at the whisker pads, and a round rump. The ears form a rocker shape when viewed from behind. The hind end of the Manx is higher than the front, which is apparent when she is standing. In the completely tailless Manx, your hand will slide right down the rump with no stopping and not feeling any protuberance.

The Manx began life as a mouser, and he retains his fine hunting skills and alert nature. With a Manx around the house, you don’t need a watchdog; you’ve got a “watch cat” who reacts rapidly and will growl threateningly or maybe even go on the attack at the sight or sound of anything out of the ordinary.

If he sees that you aren’t alarmed, he’ll settle back down. When he’s not protecting his family and property from mice, stray dogs, or other threats, however, the Manx is a mellow fellow: an eventempered and affectionate cat who enjoys serene surroundings. This is a happy, playful cat who likes to follow his favorite person through the house and assist with whatever he or she is doing. If you're planning to have these smart cats, you can get one of them from these reputable Manx breeders.

Ocigatos Manx Cattery.

Ocigatos is located in Northern California. They no longer breed Ocicats and now focus exclusively on Manx. Careful planning and extensive knowledge of the breed lines are required. They breed on a very limited basis to the standards established by the Cat Fanciers Association, Inc. Occasionally they make adults and kittens available to approved homes. They only work with other established Manx breeders they are familiar with. They do export out of the country on rare occasions to trusted breeders.

Their feline involvement is a HOBBY! This means they don't breed for profit and they are not a pet store. Breeding in the manner they do is very expensive and laborintensive. Usually, there is a bit of a wait if you want an Ocigatos kitten. Their cats are beloved personal PETS as well as show or breeding cats. They produce very few kittens per year. The average size of a Manx litter is 14 kittens just to put things into perspective. They don't have kittens available continuously but their quality is exceptional as evidenced by their success in the show rings and the accolades of my pet owners.

Those few cats or kittens who are not destined for breeding or show are made available to pet homes. They take great care to ensure their placements are the right fit for both the cat and the owner. They believe there is value and a place for both pedigreed and nonpedigreed cats in this world. Pedigreed cats provide knowledge of their lineage, health and confirmation as well as insight into the temperament you can anticipate. Their kittens have not experienced negative experiences within their lifetime with me so are confident and trusting companions.

Known for their sweet dispositions, their Manx have enjoyed great success in the show ring with both National and Regional awards in the Cat Fanciers Association. Manx are loving and intelligent lifetime companions who bond closely with their humans. If you can't commits to them for their lifetime then you need to look elsewhere for your pet. The pedigreed Manx is a rare breed that can be a challenge to obtain. They may be able to help you locate a cat or kitten from breeders they work with if I don't have one. Often, they are exhibiting at a show on the weekends but will reply as soon as possible. Getting on a waiting list might be your only option for a Manx from a reputable breeder.
