A man was killed Sunday night on I395 and I95 in downtown Baltimore when he was knocked off the jersey wall and into the water.

The man stopped to help victims of a crash in the southbound lanes around 9:45 p.m. Medic units were also on scene.

Another driver hit the vehicles involved in the first crash, sending that man in to the water, according to Baltimore City Fire spokesperson Kevin Cartwright.

"We dispatched our special rescue operations, our dive team, the Office of Emergency Management to this location where they deployed boats into the water combing through that area trying to find a victim. Within moments, they did locate an adult male victim unconscious, nonresponsive," says Cartwright.

The victim was pronounced dead and at this time we do not have his identity.

Cartwright did say that he was not a first responder.
