“Lightning never strikes the same place twice” is a common reassuring phrase. But the likelihood of lightning striking the same place or person twice is actually very high. Be it years apart or not. And in the case of our guest today, life has hit him a few times harder than most.

Dannion Brinkley's neardeath experience, when he was struck by lightning for the first time at just 25 years old, subjecting him to excruciating pain and endless surgeries that affected his brain, heart, nerve endings and tissue, still affects others to support today and share his journey at the age of 71.

This ordeal changed his life. Dannion has volunteered in hospices across the country for more than 40 years.

In 1994, Dannion published his autobiographical book, Saved by the Light: The True Story of a Man Who Died Twice and the Profound Revelations, which spent 25 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.

He describes his alleged neardeath experience and the aftermath of being clinically dead for approximately twentyeight minutes. He eventually told of a dark tunnel, a crystal city, and a "cathedral of knowledge" where thirteen "angels" communicated to him over a hundred revelations for the future, some of which he claims have come to pass.

In our interview, Dannion talks about his accidental outofbody state, having just been shot through by himself, and watching his loved ones and paramedics try to save him.
