Making the Queen's Gambit's dress using a 1940's dress pattern (BONUS: It's plus size vintage)

Sometimes the right pattern comes around just the perfect time. The Queen's Gambit has taken over the vintage community. Everyone seems to be making some part of the Queen's Gambit wardrobe, and I am no different, but I wanted to put a 1940's spin on it.

I found a lot of vintage patterns that contained Hollywood 905 (a 1940's dress and blouse pattern). This pattern was a bust 40 but I knew I would need to scale up the vintage pattern to a larger size before it would fit me in my plus size vintage sewing adventure. Using a vintage dress pattern isn't as scary as it seems, if you take it slowly and know how to read the instructions you can also make a vintage pattern for yourself. I share my tips and trick for using this vintage pattern, as well as some of the hiccups along the road.

Grab some coffee and hang out with me as I show you how I used my vintage pattern to make my own pinafore!
