Making a simple Puukko with Saami style carvings

In this video you'll see the process of making a Finnish style knife (puukko) with Saami style carvings. I am not an expert in puukko knife but I'm fascinated by how usefull and beautiful they are.

Knife making is my hobby and I like to learn new stuff and sharing the process with others. So in every new video I try to experiment new things and implement them.
This time I wanted to try : antler bolster, Saami style carvings, dying the sheath with two tones and making a Saami style leather loop to hang the knife.

At first I wanted to make a simple puukko without anything fancy on it, no brass bolster or such things. But I ended up adding some Saami style carvings because I have never done it on a knife before. The only time I've done it was on a test piece you can see at some point in this video.
I struggled to find an appropriate colouring product to fill up the carvings. Everytime I wanted to polish the knife after colouring the carvings, it was smearing all over the polishing wheel, staining the wood around.
In the end I used a permanent marker. So if there's some experts out there I would like to hear about what product you are using.

The specs :
Blade Puronvarsi 90mm hunter carbon steel
Bolster Reindeer antler
Spacers Leather and fake ivory (Elforyn)
Handle Curly birch from finland
Sheath Maple wood insert and cow leather
Loop Goat leather
Glue Epoxy
Finishing Carnauba wax
