Today I built a 1000VA transformer to test the inverter. This transformer weighs about 10.5Kg with 8.6Kg core. I usually quickly calculate 1Kg core corresponds to 120W. With 8.6Kg core we will have about 1000W. Primary 7 turns of 12mm (6AWG) wire. Secondary 220 turns of 1.3mm wire. Noload current 0.1A .
