*ADDENDUM/CORRECTION: There are some different ways this story is told. In one of the versions, I think the lunar matchmaker god was just sitting under the moon reading a blank book, and upon seeing this, the young man went up to him and asked him what he was doing. The deity told him he was looking at his log of destined lovers, and the young man was like LOL prove it, and in response the old man showed him the peasant girl/baby. I guess this makes the deity a lot less sus than if he were like "come here boy I've got something to show you." Love that for him.

Also, I apologize for the background noise! I literally picked the worst time to film ugh. There was so much noise in one part of the video that I had to cut it out, but essentially I just talked about how this whole red string of fate thing is also a thing in Japanese and Korean culture, whereas in Japanese culture the string is tied around the pinky of the woman and the thumb of the man, and in Korean culture it's tied around the pinky of both parties. In Chinese mythology, the string is tied around the ankles. But I guess it doesn't even matter cuz it's invisible lmao
