Removing the master hand front eh pistol grip seems counter intuitive until a few repetitions of well executed drills are practices. The paradigm of which the master hand leaves the gun temporarily is an essential component to help deal with a noncompliant aggressor with quick and effective action. Action with controlled aggression while utilizing both hands to control someone will leave the assaulter/officer/operator in a more advantageous position over trying to manhandle an aggressor with one hand while managing the long gun with the other hand. I am a firm believer in having confidence with our abilities to use our hands and our tools as the extension of our hands.
