Logitech MX Keys Long Term Review - What Do I Think After One Year of Daily Use?

I've been using the Logitech MX Keys for over 12 months now and it's one of the best keyboards I've ever used.

The keys are square with a round, concave indent on top. The surface is somewhat tacky and helps to keep your fingers perfectly aligned to the correct keys. After typing on this for one year, I can confidently say that I've never typed as quickly and accurately as I do with this keyboard.

My only complaints about the physical keyboard is an oversized escape key which pushes the function keys to the right. This caused some problems with my muscle memory problems as I frequently missed my expected key. I also missed having two FN keys at the bottom of the device. The MX only has one on the right, which again interrupted some existing muscle memory for shortcuts involving this button.

Connectivity is easy either directly with bluetooth or via the included USB dongle. Connecting is simple and quick, and I only experienced a few connection hiccups, mostly when using the keyboard for gaming. The MX Keys can also connect to 3 devices at once and switch between them quickly using dedicated buttons on the right side of the keyboard. This is my favorite feature of the keyboard and is perfect for a situation where you want to use the keyboard with multiple devices.

Charging is managed via a USBC port on the back of the device. Charging is very fast which is great for getting a quick bit of juice. From a full charge, the MX Keys will last about 10 days with the backlighting enabled and 5 months without it. I've found this to hold true in real life as I've used the backlight all the time and charge it approximately once every other week. The backlight also has a cool feature that enables it to turn on with motion, as your hand approaches, rather than just with a key press.

At $99 USD, this is a premium keyboard with great features. If you're looking for a productivity keyboard for your setup and particularly if you want it to be used across multiple devices, the MX Keys is a great option.
