Living with TOURETTE Syndrome: My Story

Follow
Shemmassian Academic Consulting

Today, I'm going to talk about my experience living with Tourette syndrome.

For over 15+ years, I’ve been answering commonly asked questions and sharing admissions strategies to help you get into your dream program.

And to provide you with even more helpful admissions resources, we decided to launch the Shemmassian Academic Consulting YouTube channel in 2019!

However, as the channel grows, I've been receiving more and more questions about my repetitive facial movements or tics. Some of you have even correctly identified Tourette syndrome as the cause of these tics!

In this video, I'll answer questions including:
What is Tourette syndrome?
When was I diagnosed with Tourette syndrome?
What is it like living with Tourette syndrome?

I hope you find it valuable. And if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments. I'd be happy to answer them.

Who we are:
Shemmassian Academic Consulting (SAC) was founded by Dr. Shirag Shemmassian, a medical school admissions expert with over 15 years of experience helping thousands of students get into top programs such as Harvard, Mayo, and UCSF. Despite a roughly 40% medical school matriculation rate nationally, the SAC team’s approach has resulted in over 90% of their students getting accepted the first time they apply. SAC has been featured on The Washington Post, US News and World Report, and NBC.
