In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi begins to cover the life of Umar Ibn AlKhattab (ra), one of the greatest companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the 2nd khalifa after Abu Bakr AsSiddiq (ra).

Umar once set out to kill the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam)... today he's buried next to him!

Once a staunch enemy of Islam he became the man who brought victory and glory to the Muslims.

His name is Umar b. alKhattab, his title is the 'Leader of the Believers', and his legacy of conquests of great empires amazes historians to this day.

The Muslims forever remained in honor when Umar was alive and Umar's honor was raised by becoming the soninlaw of the alahl bayt through marrying Umm Kulthum the daughter Ali b. Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them all).

In this series, Lives of the Sahaba, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses the lives of the noble companions, some of the greatest and most blessed human beings to ever live after the death of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him [S].

While not a comprehensive history of the Khulafa ArRashidoon, this series will provide a summarized biography of the men and women considered to be the Sahaba (companions of the Prophet [s]), including the Mothers of the Believers (the wives of the Prophet).
