RSPB Loch Garten can be considered the home of osprey in the UK following their successful recolonisation close to this exact location in 1954. Ospreys were considered extinct as a breeding bird in the UK after being wiped out by persecution, but they are back and thriving once again!

Season 2024
April 6th: Brodie, our male, arrives
April 7th: Asha, our female, arrives
April 21st: first egg laid at 10:47
April 24th: second egg laid at 14:06
April 27th: third egg laid at 13:05
May 5th: Male Blue KL5 (Hatched 2020 Loch Ness) claimed the nest and destroyed all three eggs.
