Topi pride lionesses and Oldikdik male lion Orkuret eat a domestic cow that they caught at night inside the reserve. Grazing of domestic livestock inside the reserve often takes place under cover of darkness making it more likely to encounter predators. Luckily the Rangers were in the area soon after the cow was caught to prevent any potential retaliation from the livestock owners. Supervised daytime grazing in closed areas of the reserve should be considered as an option to protect both the lions and the livestock as the livestock is already entering illegal it is better to control it in a legal way.
