Life Through the Eyes of a Sea Turtle

Follow
Great Big Story

We all became acutely aware of the dangers of plastic pollution in 2015, when a video of marine biologist Nathan Robinson pulling an entire plastic straw out of a sea turtle’s nose began to circulate. Today, Robinson is studying green sea turtles off the coast of the Bahamian island of Eleuthera, relying on TurtleCams. The devices are mounted on the backs of turtles. They provide a turtle’seye view of how these endangered animals live and the threats they face. In this episode of “Mission Wild,” Wes Larson dives into the project, channeling his inner Michael Phelps to find potential turtle subjects.
