Learning about Krown Undercoating

Follow
York Firewood

My mechanic requested that I get this vehicle undercoated with a rust prohibitor. So I researched my options. My initial thought was getting a black coating applied. But my years as a painting contractor had me weary about the longevity of this. I knew that in order for a coating to last, the surface had to be clean, dry, dull and sound. And rusty metal just wasn't sound, plus it would be nearly impossible to get the underside clean enough to put on an impervious coating that would last. Plus, I didn't want to throw good money at this. While other clear coat products also were penitrating waxes, with petroleum jelly as a vehicle, I was more prone to use an oil based product, even if it had to be reapplied every so often. That's where Krown products came into play. Plus, I was impressed that it was the #1 product used in Canada. Here, in the US, Fluid Film (a wax based product) dominates the market. Probably because it's readily availble to just about every shop that wants to do this service. While the Krown is sold through approved distribution and application centers (or so I believe).

Thanks to Jessica for allowing me to interview and film her about the Krown product and application system.
