The lean 5S system contains 5steps to achieving a more organized, controlled and efficient manufacturing plant. These steps are Sort, SetinOrder, Shine, Standardize and Sustain. In this video, I discuss my favorite step in the 5S process, SetinOrder.

In this SetinOrder step, your Kaizen team identifies the proper storage location for all of the items that are required for production. The things that you need to store at the production line may include items such as equipment, workstations, raw materials, WorkinProcess materials, changeover parts, tools, inspection gages, and information. To find the perfect location for everything, just consider five factors that will keep your plant safe and efficient.
