Sorting conveyors are used to push or divert specific products from one conveyor line to another. This is accomplished through a number of different ways, and each is unique to the product, speed and path that product is required to travel. Sorting systems vary in function, including sorting through shoe, crossbelt, popwheel, roller and slat sorters to name a few.

The Eaglestone Sorting Conveyor in this video is 70' long, and features pneumatic sorting arms with adjustable speed. The conveyor can sort to different containers when previous containers are full, and bright LEDs indicate when a container is full or near full. Eyesafe infrared scanners identify barcodes, and random and single product production batches are easily sorted. Only one operator is needed, reducing sorting time and manpower requirements.
