Lake Louise // Niblock and Whyte A Top Ten Scramble in Banff

Mediocre Amateur

I’ve seen a lot of pictures of Lake Louise and it’s red canoes. And in person it did not disappoint. Nestled in the heart of Banff National Park, Lake Louise offers loads of hikes with lots of dazzling views. For this visit I decided to do the Niblock to Whyte scramble with a descent down to the Plain of the Six Glaciers Teahouse. As a bonus summit I also climb up Devils Thumb with nick before ditching him for higher ground. I started at the Lake Louise Hotel and took the trail up to the Agnus Lake Teahouse. From there I climbed up to the Devils thumb then down the backside on a primitive trail. After descending the Thumb I caught the faint trail to the saddle between Niblock and Whyte. I summited Nibloc first then did the loose scramble to Mount Whyte. After that I scrambled the ridge to the south then descending through thousands of feet of scree back to the Plain of the Six Glaciers trail.
