The new bus has a CAT 3208 engine. We smile nearly every time it fires up; it smells like childhood. Like Bunny said, the bus is built for comfort. She takes some time to get up to speed—but when she gets there, she can go all day long. But when she hits the hills, cancel your plans! We called the Biltmore Estate to ask if we could arrive after our scheduled tour time with no luck, so we ended up moving our tour to the following day. The visit was worth it. Caleb has seen bigger, but most adults would agree that the Biltmore Estate is as grand as it is stunning! Below are some tips to help you make the most of your visit. Pack a picnic and plan to spend a full day at the Biltmore, George Vanderbilt’s historic country estate. There’s a TON to see here, so come prepared to stay all day. You can tour the house (okay—mansion) itself, plus gardens, a winery, Antler Hill Village, a historic farm, and miles of walking, biking, and hiking trails. There’s even a proper steakhouse for dinner cooked over an open flame.
