The KVS Physical Education teachers across India are in extreme anguish over the
grave and humiliating incident during the meeting of Regional Sports Control Board
(RSCB) held on April 23, 2024 at KV Trimulghery.
I FEEL IT’S A BLACK DAY FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS
With immense distress and a heavy heart I express my deep concern and dismay by
drawing your attention to the sordid episode of derogatory language used by KVS Hyderabad
Region, Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Manjunath during the recent Regional Sports Control Board
(RSCB) meeting held on April 23, 2024 at K.V.Trimulghery. Mr.Reji V.R.Nath, Assistant
Commissioner, Incharge for Sports, Member Secretary, RSCB was presiding the meeting.
Mr.Prabhu Das, senior most Assistant Commissioner, (202324 Incharge for Sports) special
invitee was also present at the meeting. Almost 15 Principals (including Lady
Principals),TGT(P&HE)(including Lady TGT(P&HE) and 45 Scout masters were also present
physically in the meeting. Mr.Manjunath, D.C, KVSHR along with all the other Principals and
TGTs (P&HE’s) of Hyderabad region was also present in the meeting in virtual mode (Video
conference, Google Meet).
As physical education and health education teachers, we take immense pride in our profession.
With the support of our families and our own hard work, many of us have pursued and completed
our Degrees /master's degrees. We have dedicated ourselves to our profession, striving to instil in
our students the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and physical wellbeing. It is with great
despondency that I must report the disrespectful and hurtful behaviour displayed by Mr.
Manjunath, the Deputy Commissioner of the KVS Hyderabad region, during this meeting.
The incident in question occurred when Mr. Manjunath, who was supposed to deliver the keynote
address, instead made derogatory remarks about physical education teachers. He disparaged our
profession with comments such as:

1. Physical education teachers lick the shoes of officers till they get the job and after getting
the job they do not work, they just sit under the trees in the playground. This sentence was
repeated 4 – 5 times in his entire address of 30 to 45 minutes. (These words were voiced by
him in Hindi “PETs Naukri milne thak talwe chaatthe rahthe hai aur Naukri milne ke
baad kaam nahi karte, ped ke neeche baithe rehte hain”).
2. Second adverse comment was that P.ETs carry milk to Principals home in the
morning.(said in hindi ).
3 When they (TGT(P&HE)(including Lady TGT(P&HE) join KVS , look lean and fit , but
soon after many P.ETs grow their bellies & are all obese. Most of the PET’s are 15 to
20 Kgs overweight.
Mr. Manjunath's words cut deep as he denigrated our profession and insulted us with derogatory
remarks.

As dedicated professionals committed to the wellbeing and development of our students, we find
Mr. Manjunath's behaviour unacceptable and demoralizing. We have devoted our careers to
nurturing young minds and fostering a love for physical activity and health, and we deserve to be
treated with dignity and respect.
Moreover, his threats of intimidation, including the assertion of his power to transfer us at will,
were both unprofessional and unjust. No teacher should ever be subjected to such humiliation and
coercion, especially from a figure of authority within the organization.
In light of these distressing events, we demand Mr. Manjunath to submit a formal apology to entire
Physical education community especially to Hyderabad P&HE Teachers. Such an apology is not
just a matter of courtesy but a necessary step towards rectifying the damage caused and restoring
dignity to our profession.
Should Mr. Manjunath fail to extend the apology, regrettably, we will be left with no choice but to
escalate this matter to the National Human Rights Commission. We cannot stand mute while the
integrity and respect of our physical education teachers is unjustly tarnished.

It's concerning to hear that Mr. Manjunath has a history of using inappropriate language
towards students too, as evidenced by his suspension from KV No. 1 Raipur back in 2010
& got suspended from kv no 1 raipur that time it was jabalpur region and attached to kv
dhandevada then he got modified to kv ojar mumbai region because of using third class
language to students.A fair enquiry will reveal all facts .It's essential for educational
institutions to prioritize the wellbeing and safety of students and teachers respect, and using
disrespectful language is unacceptable behavior from any educator.
