I took the Hosono Line forest road (Kurobishi Forest Road), which opened on July 1st this year, to the Kurobishi parking lot at an altitude of 1,500m and enjoyed the view of the Northern Alps.
This year, there is less snow than usual, but it is still amazing in the Northern Alps. It is an impressive view.
Kurobishi Parking Lot, which can be accessed by private car, has an elevation difference of 800m from JR Hakuba Station. Take one lift from the Kurobishi parking lot to Kurobishidaira, where you will be healed by the yellow daylilies, and then take another lift to reach Happoike Sanso, the entrance to the heavenly pond "Happoike." The altitude difference here from JR Hakuba Station is actually over 1,100m.
Since you are located at an altitude of over 1,800 meters, the views of the Hakuba Mountain Range to the north and Mt. Goryu and Mt. Kashima Yarigatake to the south are completely different from those seen from the foot of the mountain.
