Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) hosted an OffHighway Vehicle (OHV) Safety Awareness Week 2021 kickoff event on Saturday, May 15. OHV Safety Awareness Week is an integral part of the 50th anniversary of the OffHighway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) program, to be commemorated throughout 2021. The multiagency and nonprofit collaboration promotes “Know Before You Go” information on safety and preparedness for offhighway recreation throughout the state. Free OHV safety trainings and events are available to the public as well as memorabilia items, including stickers, magnets, pins and 50th anniversary OHVMR patches.
