Young kitten found alone in a barn is scooped up by a feral cat rescue organization and put into foster care. His mother was unknown, so she couldn't be trapped at the same time to continue raising him. Also, serious disease appeared to be present at his colony (confirmed by vet after testing of other colony members two days later), so the kitten needed to be removed immediately, with no time to wait to discover his mother's identity.
