I had a surprise day off today because our boilers were down at the dry cleaners. I can't operate my mechanical shirt press without steam... I love my machines so I hope they get fixed today. :)
I saw my crows as I went out on my morning walk and I hit the grocery store along my way. I have a friend staying the night this weekend so I needed to get a few last minute snacks.
When I finally got home, I was cooking up some fancy ramen for lunch when I heard a big thud on either the glass door or window. I figured it was just kids throwing things around, but then I heard a big commotion of birds!
A dove must have hit the window and got a concussion. The crow and magpie wasted no time at all and pounced. They are opportunists after all and they saw an easy meal. The crow was much stronger and kept the magpie away until it was done, then the magpie got all the leftovers.
I went to look at the aftermath, it was a mess! When I got back inside, all the other birds had found out what happened and it was the talk of the town! Dozens of crows and magpies were all talking up a storm, I couldn't see all of them but they were everywhere and it was very loud. I'm glad I went out when I did, I don't want them to think I did it.
