Kimi Werner reunites with childhood friend and contemporary artist of Hawaiian leimaking, Pamakane Pico. They visit Pamakane's lush tropical farm, meet her beloved pets and forage for leimaking materials in the heart of nature. Back in Kimi's Kitchen, they prepare poisson cru, a Tahitian dish of fish, citrus, colorful vegetables and freshsqueezed coconut milk. Pamakane weaves a beautiful lei with the plants foraged as the two friends reminisce about growing up in rural Maui the good times, the hard times and how important it was to fight for their friendship and passions.
