Renowned R&B flautist Jef Kearns takes us on a mesmerizing journey with a fresh take on the classic hit “Killing Me Softly with His Song.” Joining forces with Torontobased vocalist Joanna Majoko and producer Douglas Romanow he delivers a hauntingly beautiful interpretation inspired by the warmth of memories and the solitude of latenight reflection.

Jef's flute intertwines seamlessly with Mojako's soulful vocals. His signature flute sound captivates and although the lyrics center around a singersongwriter playing guitar the listener feels she is singing about him. Romanow's production creates a depth and richness that resonates long after the final note fades. The meticulous mastering of Randy Merrill (Adele, Taylor Swift, Chris Brown) adds another layer of sonic brilliance.

The single is part of Kearns' album “Deep Cover 1970s” which focuses on reimagining classic 1970s hits with modern production and a tonne of respect to the source material.
