Some parents love them, others loathe them, but playdates are a part of modern family life and speak volumes about who we are, where we live, how we parent and how we differ from each other.

Catholic Brendan lives in a semi with his mum and 3 siblings. Twins Tom and Billy live in a large detached house with their lawyer parents. Tom has Down syndrome and has never gone a playdate before. Yasmin’s family live in a small rented end of terrace house and are Nigerian Muslims and call themselves ‘AfroBrummies’.
