Here is a nice gem of a Key located within paddling distance of the Blimp Road Launch on Cudjoe Key. It is around 2.75 miles from the launch and is one of the few islands in the Keys that has a natural beach, pine trees, and areas for rough camping (pirate style). It used to be a processing area for Sponges and other marine products. Also, it became a smuggling port for some. Definitely a nice place to take a leisurely paddle, have lunch, do some snorkeling, and hit the surrounding fishing spots. A true gem.
