Jude 1 - Wandering Stars || Bible in Song || Project of Love

Project of Love

I was once a wandering star.

I felt like I didn't belong, I wandered deeper and deeper into the darkness. I got lost. Depressed, suicidal, addicted, and yes, you could even say I was a rockstar ..

Then one day, I met the Light Himself, and my star came home and became one with the Son. (pun intended ;)

So when I read Jude for the first time, I was overwhelmed with love and compassion for these people. 'Cause, to me, they represent 'the people who walk in darkness' ( Isa 9:2).

I still know a lot of wandering stars. I was once one of them. Thinking the darkness was actually light.

What Jude says in verses 12 and 13 moved me to tears and, to me, is one of the most beautiful and harrowing poetic verses in the Bible.

‭It says:
'They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars on their way to the black hole'.
(Jude 1:1213 NKJV‬, last sentence from MSG).

I realize this passage in Jude is about infiltrators in the church at one time.

But to me these 'wandering stars' represent much more than just these people and to me, these verses are still saturated with love.

The desire of God, our Daddy, to bring ALL His children home. Cause He doesn't want anyone lost (2 Peter 3:9) or wandering about in the darkness.

Jude 1 – Wandering Stars

12. They are clouds without water,
carried about by the winds;

late autumn trees without fruit,
twice dead, pulled up by the roots;

13. raging waves of the sea,
foaming up their own shame;

wandering stars
on their way to the black hole.
